A verified donor line for your ward.

When your blood bank can't cover a patient, LifeDrop mobilises screened voluntary donors to your transfusion desk through WhatsApp. Your staff confirm every request before a single donor is alerted.

What happens today

Emergency blood shouldn't depend on who the family knows.

Families do the searching

Relatives leave the bedside to phone contacts and post in group chats while your team waits on units.

Requests can't be checked

Forwarded messages lose the ward, blood group and urgency. Donors stop trusting them.

Nobody closes the loop

Staff don't know who is coming, when, or whether the donor is eligible until they arrive.

What partners get

Coordination your ward doesn't have to run.

LifeDrop handles donor outreach, matching and logistics. Your team keeps every clinical decision.

Ward-verified requests

Each request is confirmed with your transfusion desk or request slip before donors are alerted, so donors trust every call.

Screened donor pool

Donors are typed and screened (haemoglobin, blood pressure, infectious disease) at partner hospitals, and the 90-day recovery window is enforced.

Matched by type & distance

Only eligible donors with the right blood group near your hospital get a one-tap yes/no alert.

Arrival codes & ETAs

Each confirmed donor arrives with a LifeDrop code (e.g. LD-4471) and an ETA, so your desk knows exactly who is coming.

Runs on WhatsApp

Nothing to install or train on. Your staff and donors use the app they already have, in English or French.

No patient turned away

If a family can't pay the coordination fee, the Solidarity Access Fund covers it. Same donor, same speed.

Request flow

What happens after your ward raises a request.

Built by nurses around how a ward already works: request slip, transfusion desk, clinician sign-off.

We coordinate; clinicians do the medicine. Blood is collected, tested and transfused only in licensed hospitals. No test results or diagnoses pass through the chat.

  1. 1Ward or family

    Request on WhatsApp

Hospital, ward, blood group, number of units and urgency, sent from a staff phone or by the patient's family.

  2. 2Your transfusion desk

    Request verified

We confirm against the request slip or with the desk. In a life-threatening emergency, verification and donor alerts run in parallel.

  3. 3LifeDrop

    Eligible donors alerted

Matched by blood group, distance and recovery window. Donors answer yes or no with one tap.

  4. 4Donor

On the way with a code

The donor gets directions, an ETA and a desk code. The requester's MoMo fee is charged only now.

  5. 5Your team

    Donation and close-out

Your staff run the clinical process. We follow up with the donor, thank them, and log the outcome.

Partnership

Two ways to work with us.

Now enrolling · Buea

Hospital & clinic partner pilot

For private clinics, district hospitals and maternity centres that regularly face emergency shortfalls.

  • A direct WhatsApp line to the LifeDrop team
  • Donor mobilisation for your verified requests
  • Onboarding for transfusion and ward staff
  • Regular review of requests and outcomes together

Pilot terms are agreed with each partner.

NGOs · insurers · health programmes

Sponsor coordinations

For maternal-health programmes, NGOs, HMOs and funders who want the families they serve to reach blood faster.

  • Cover coordination fees for your beneficiaries
  • Fund the Solidarity Access Fund directly
  • Co-run donor drives with our community team
  • Transparent, MoMo-traceable spending
What we ask of partners

A light lift for your team.

The pilot works best when we have one reliable point of contact on your side.

  • A named contact at the transfusion desk or blood bank
  • Quick confirmation of requests, so donors only move for real cases
  • Donor screening as part of your normal intake process
  • A short outcome note (donated or not) so we can close the loop
Questions from hospitals

Before you partner

Does LifeDrop handle or store blood?

No. Blood is collected, tested and transfused only in licensed hospitals. LifeDrop coordinates voluntary donors to your desk; your clinicians make every medical decision.

Are donors paid?

Never. Blood is a free, voluntary gift. The requester's coordination fee covers the donor's transport, meal, airtime and screening, and the cost of running the service. It is never a payment for blood.

What patient data do you see?

Only what's needed to coordinate: hospital, ward, blood group, units and urgency. No diagnoses or test results pass through the chat. A donor's number is shared with the hospital only after they accept a specific match.

Do our staff need new software?

No. Everything runs through WhatsApp on phones your team already uses.

What if the family can't pay?

They are still matched, with the same donor, speed and care. The Solidarity Access Fund covers the fee, and the donor never knows who paid.
